PAS 55. Hmmmm. Why should I be interested?

Another specification!? ....... YES! Welcome PAS 55!

I was having coffee at a trendy foodie shop with a guy who was the Business Development Director for a company I hoped to partner with.

We were perched on tiny stools in front of a curved counter. He looked at FORTIG and said - "Gail, these processes are PAS 55 compliant!". I said "What's PAS 55?".

Within 2 weeks I was a certified member of the Institute of Asset Management. I purchased the PAS 55:2008 documents from the IAM that are copy-written by BSI, the British Standards Institute in the UK. Then I poured over every line of PAS 55, this Publicly Available Specification for Asset Management.

Out of curiosity, I cross-referenced PAS 55:2008 to FORTIG. To my delight, FORTIG was PAS 55:2008 compliant. FORTIG is PAS 55's digital twin!

PAS 55:2008 is a powerful document. It was used as the foundation for the creation of ISO 55000:2014, the new international standard for a management system for asset management.
